How is Bandida Mezcal made?

Bandida Mezcal is made using traditional, artisanal methods that honor mezcal’s heritage.

  1. Agave hearts (piñas) are harvested after 11 years of growth.
  2. The piñas are cooked in volcanic rock pit ovens to develop smoky flavors.
  3. Cooked agave is crushed using a Tahona, a large stone wheel.
  4. The crushed agave undergoes wild fermentation without additives.
  5. Distillation is done in small batches to preserve complex aromas and flavors.

This process results in a pure, additive-free mezcal with rich, earthy, and smoky notes. Discover more about our production process.
