Bandida Cristal is our latest expression of Ultra-Premium Mezcal, crafted from agaves matured for nine years in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. Bandida Cristal is a single-estate Mezcal from our fourth-generation Maestro Mezcalero, and on paper, it holds one of the highest rankings ever awarded to a mezcal by the CRM.
Bandida Cristal is presented in our first glass decanter, handcrafted in Mexico City. Beneath the bottle, Mayahuel—goddess of agave—reveals herself with every pour, ensuring her presence is experienced across the world.
We have created 25 special edition bottles featuring Mayahuel in colour- a tribute to Mayahuel, the Goddess of Agave and the vibrant colours of Mexico. We have left the first 10 bottles here in Oaxaca, the birthplace of Mezcal.
With a lower ABV than Bandida Blanco, Bandida Cristal is exquisitely smooth—ideal for sipping neat, or for Premium and Craft Cocktails.
Bandida Cristal is organic, free from additives or sweeteners, and crafted entirely by hand — using wild fermentation, volcanic stone ovens, and a traditional tahona.
In September 2021, we began crafting the Bandida Cristal mould in Mexico. After 3.5 years and 30 iterations, we finally achieved a glass bottle that perfectly highlights the intricate contours of Bandida's design. The complexity arose from our ambition to create a bottle whose shape beautifully interacts with light, showcasing the elegant and natural curves of the agave leaves.
Cristal, which translates directly to "glass" in Spanish, signifies our first venture beyond our ceramic range. Glass elegantly accentuates the distinctive “pencas” and bottle contours while simultaneously showcasing Mayahuel prominently engraved on the base, viewable from any angle.
Additionally, the introduction of a glass bottle broadens our ultra-premium offering, making Bandida accessible to a wider audience without compromising on quality.
